The UV-a form of radiation can cause premature aging of the skin as well as skin cancer if one is constantly exposed to sunlight. The UV-b for of radiation is what can directly affect the health and vision of the eye, causing such health risks as cataracts. Hence, to protect your eyes, ophthalmologists recommend anti-UV lenses that would provide 100% protection of the eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation.

Green lenses are the most recommended because they filter out blue light, are glare resistant and allow for sharpness of vision. Rose and purple lenses on the other hand are good for hunting and skiing because they provide excellent contrast and eye protection in green and blue surroundings.
