Maclaren strollers are also called the Maclaren buggies and they happen to be listed in the top hundred things which changed our lives in the past hundred years. The Maclaren stroller was a marvelous invention and hence it is considered an asset of sorts when it comes to ferrying small babies from one place to another.

It all started in the year 1965 when Owen Maclaren introduced a baby buggy which he derived from a fighter planes carriage. It is strange but the truth is similar to the above statement. Owen also noticed that his daughter was very uncomfortable in their old styled carriage and hence he went on to update the antique version with a comfortable Maclaren stroller.

Maclaren strollers were made from light weight aluminum tubes. They also had the capability to fold themselves into tiny objects which were not only easy to store but they could also be transported with ease. The Maclaren strollers weighed a mere six pounds, or just three kilograms.

Ever since the introduction of these strollers, an effort was made to upgrade the models in accordance to the needs of the end users. The changes were in the form of comfort, safety and portability. The light weight parts which were used in building Maclaren strollers are widely used by other companies. So, the stroller can be considered a blessing in disguise for both parents as well as kids. Besides, various manufacturing companies which use the expertise would forever be indebted to their inventor.
